Looking for a 722 loader
Needing one for ford 3000
I would buy one with wrong mounting brackets and l also need a hydraulic valve ? Which valve is best too use for this?

I not sure if all the 722 loader came with the controls on the
frame stand pipe but I know some did. If not you can work it off
two valves off the hydraulic top cover. You will need the double
valve because unlike most of the 711's had trip buckets and the
722 had hydraulic bucket. I have four 711 loaders and only one
has the hydraulic bucket.
I know UD had one mounted on a square nose model maybe he will
chime in.

(reply to post at 03:51:01 02/04/18) [/. If you have information on changing 711 loaders to hydraulic dump that would be great.
Would I have too have a bigger gpm pump and add a reservoir for this?
Thnks the info

Where are you located?
I might know where there's one in MN - if he
still has it. It was rather over priced imo and
I don't think it had the right brackets. I
think they were for a 4 cylinder tractor. It
was a 3 1/2" box though and had the light
material bucket.
I am working on two dufferent deals to get some
brackets for these loaders. Both for 3 and 4
cyl tractors.
Probably won't have anything in hand till
summer though they are a long ways away and I'm
not willing to pay the shipping just to have
them here.
Been thinking I might start collecting the
parts to put a one arm loader on my "Least
desirable Ford ever" - just to make a bad
tractor worse :)

Kirk, I still have a bunch of original
literature for those loaders here.
I haven't looked at it in years but am pretty
sure a True 722 only cane with the standpipe
and controls AND used a front mounted pump with
the foot of the loader as the reservoir.
A 711 could have had either a trip bucket or
the hydrauluc bucket and was run off the
tractors htdraulics.
My first one was a true 722 and had the pump,
etc. I modified it to work off of a dual
remote.
Easier and I didn't have to cut the nice
valence on my tractor to mount the pump.

I don't have any info on changing the trip bucket to hydraulic. The later, short box, 711 came with a hydraulic bucket. You could order the brackets to use on the square nose models and also could
get offset hip brackets for early thousand/hundred series tractors.
You could work off a double valve on top cover or could mount a pump, set of valves, and a tank for faster response. As I said the 722 had the valves on the stand pipe, used the frame for tank and
had a front pump. Short box was basically used on the square nose models and the long box on the earlier models. But you could get brackets to make them work.
Here is a photo of a 711 trip that someone converted to hydraulic. I saved the photo and was able to retrieve it after my computer crashed.

I agree that only a 722 will carry the stand pipe with the valves. It will be harder to find a 722 than to find a 711. A trip bucket ain't the worst thing in the world Hydraulic is nice but I also
like my trip buckets. What ever brackets you get, get them cause you can always trade them.

If you like, email me your phone number
and I'll call you. There us a bit to be
learned about these little marvels so
you don't get the wrong stuff.
Here are some photos. One shows the
standpipe and valves on a 722.
The all hydraulic dump was rather slow.
For snow I preferred the trip bucket
better.
The big bucket was not Ford. Someone
modified it to work on this loader. It
was a trip bucket and worked great for
snow.
One photo shows a red loader with a
tape measure under the box. It is a 5
1/2" box.
For your 3000 you MUST have a 3 1/2"
box - See the blue loader box is
shorter.
It also depends on what year your 3000
is. They changed the front bolster
about 1967/8 and the front bracket is
different.
These are handy things for moving wood
chips, piled gravel, hauling rocks out
of the garden, a bit of firewood or
lifting an engine into the back of your
pickup, etc. But No way are they any
kind of a ground engagement tool for
digging.
None of them have down pressure - just
lift.
A couple of other random thoughts: Note
the heavy wheel weights on the tractor
with big bucket. You will need a lot of
weight back there. My tires were loaded
then too.
For an all hydraulic unit you will need
a dual remote hyd valve. Valve will
cost around $350-$500. For a trip model
you will need a single remote - about
$175-$250. Both prices are for used
units.

Those things just remind me of the Flintstones when they but the rib on the side of the car and it falls over.
