A 7000 showed up on radar for sale so close I could drive it home..good rubber, good sheetmetal, seems solid a few minor leaks,it has the 2 shift loadmonitor tranny on it..I gotta shoot a price..looking for a fair ball park offer...new to ford here..how does 2500 to 3000 sound? I'm OK with walking away...It does have a turbo.. Central MN... thanks in advance

The 7000 was basically a diesel 5000 with a turbo.

Load monitor is part of the hydraulic system, not the transmission.

The dual stick transmission is an 8 speed with 4 forward and 1 reverse gear on the taller shifter and high/low ranges on the shorter shifter for a total of 8 forward and 2 revers speeds.

It may or may not have dual power, which is a hydraulically controlled additional high/low range at the input of the transmission. If it has dual power it would have a small handle up near the steering column that controls a cable that goes down to the transmission.

If everything works properly and it has good tires then $2500 to $3000 is a very reasonable price.

yes it does have dual power (small lever) it has the clam shell fenders with no floor plate/board..just foot rests.all factory with wide front..18.4 34 rears

Price truly varies by location. Around here, 40 miles NW of Philly and 20 miles east of Reading, suburbia has slowly been encroaching and there are not that many pieces of land that require a 80+ HP tractor any longer, so the price on the larger tractors has softened here. I don't think anyone in my immediate area would pay more than $4000.00 or so for one. If you go about 40 or 50 miles west of here, into Lancaster County, that's Amish country mostly, and the Amish don't buy tractors, but there are enough Mennonite farms out there that the big older tractors are still selling, and a good 7000 would probably go for closer to $7000.00 to the right buyer.

Originally a tag under the right hand hood panel. If that is gone then the same numbers are stamped into the bell housing on the starter side. Tractor number is single letter then numbers, the letter is the plant code. The unit number is: number, letter, number, letter (ex 7B14B). That is final assembly date. First digit is year, second is month third is day last is shift. Ford parts changes are buy build date, not serial number.

An all-purpose (or utility) model rather than a rowcrop, then. All of them had tubos. I have the one my Grandpa bought new, it also has Dual Power and 18.4x34's. Very good tractors. As you described it, I doubt if you could get it for less than $5500.

Here in Alabama a 7000 in working condition would go for $6-7k but they don't sell good. Getting harder and harder to find anyone around that knows how to work on the older tractors down this way.

There are five on Tractor house at $6500, and three or so at around $8000. That tells me that everything else being equal that the one that you are looking at should bring at least $5,000.
