Engine seized

Was going down a steep hill, and engine seized up on me.
Ended up being low on oil, so now I have to pay for my
stupidity by not checking oil level. Here?s my question. I can
turn the engine maybe quarter inch by bumping the key
switch, but it won?t crank over. Is this most likely a bearing and
I?ll need to replace them all?

If it was run low on oil and it seized a rod bearing you will be looking at a lot more than a bearing. I'd say a reground crank will be in order at bare minimum. If it was that low,it must have been using a lot or leaking a lot. Probably needed a rebuild anyway.

I have just had two cranks turned, from engines that seized One in a chevy 350, and the other from a chevy 327. Both looked bad, both cleaned up with a lot less then I thought. 327 crank is going into a motor in my coupe, that will be able to turn 7000 at times.

If your in east TN, a guy in Elgin, tn can turn it. All he does, is engine machining & balancing. He can weld them, then turn them also. Good reputation of doing it.

I would pull the pan and have a look see. I was cutting with a 64 4000 Ford and haybine. RPM's kept slowing down, I kept looking for problem. The hay was coming out fine,no clogs. I looked down at oil pressure gauge, zero. It didnt knock under load. The hex oil pump driveshaft had stripped out. Pulled it in, pulled pan and #1 journal was black as could be. It had beaten the top of the rod bearing almost all the way though, beat it to thin wafers on each side of the rod. I took emery cloth and cleaned it until shiny and installed new #1 rod bearing. I took it to field the next day and that tractor put a lot of ground and a huge amount of hours behind it.
