I recently bought some blue spray cans from the dealer and the paint seems to be darker than what i used to get. Does anyone know the paint codes for the 62-64 models?

dunno the codes, but back when the color change was happening they called it "old Ford blue" and "new Ford blue".

I've not been able to find the proper blue paint for the 63-63 Ford models.

Yes, it is darker than either of the blue paints sold now by CNH, neither of which is correct.

I have seen some aftermarket paint called old Ford blue as mentioned by Larry but have not tried it, so do not know if it is correct.

Good luck.

Dean, I believe this is the info you are looking for:

Ford - WT8002
Ditzler/PPG - 13582
DuPont - 6544
Martin Senour - 10158

The early Ford tractor paint color was also used on the 1968 Ford Mustang. Paint code WT8002 also known as Sierra Blue.

No disrespect noted. I'm always happy to learn what I don't know or learned incorrectly. Glad you got the codes for the man.

Search for "Empire Blue". It is lighter than the Ford-NH blue that is most common these days.

DC, no disrespect but I do not believe Empire Blue is the correct color for early Ford Tractors.

I have been researching this trying to decide on paint for a 5900 (1986/7 model).

This "EMPIRE BLUE" should be correct for 1962 and up tractors according to reference here at YT: http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Ford-Tractor-Parts/Paint.html

The problem....... just about every web site and paint manufacturers uses different codes/names and there is no accurate cross reference. If you go to Ford/NH dealer, they will sell you one color blue for pre-1963 tractors and another color for after 1963-1999.

I have a can (spray) from Ford/NH dealer.
IRONGARD Factory-Approved Enamel (NH Agriculture)
New Holland Blue Acrylic 1963-1999.
(according to this YT time references are consistant with Ford/NH). Therefore, the Empire Blue (TISCO-TP360) should be correct.

external_link.com also has Empire Blue but theirs is HTP769. I would assume Empire Blue = Empire Blue but I don't know why the # is different.

And, good luck with any of the other manufacturers/retailers.

Tractor Supply (and agrisupply.com) has Majic "Ford Blue" and "New Ford New Holland Blue"...... who know which ones these go to??? They aslo have a Krylon Ford Blue.

Messicks has 2 Ford Blues....... on 1965-2000 and a 2000-up. I would guess that this should be 1963-1999 and 2000-up.

Valspar has a "Ford BLue Tractor Paint" 4432-12 available on Amazon. I check the Valspar website and this is the only Ford Tractor blue............ so....... who knows which Ford blue this is??? I posted a question today on Amazon so maybe it will be answered.

Anyway......... confused as the rest of you. If you want the best color match it looks like going to dealer/NH or using the year reference here at YT, external_link.com, or Messicks or similar tractor web site is the best options. Using something that does not reference the year is just a WAG. Using the blue that matches the year should get you close and this can only be done a dealer or one of the tractors site online resources.
