Hey y’all,
I’m replacing a broken fuel tap/shutoff on my Ford 800. Just want some opinions on two quick questions.
First this is that silly style fuel tap/ shutoff that has the two screws that hold it to the underside of the gas tank and has a small half inch or so O ring where it mates. I am a bit worried since I have heard some horror stories that the new replacements are prone to leaking....so what are the options on using a thin film of some kind a permatex, Teflon, gas sealant product with the O ring?
Second question, I also have a new hard metal fuel line coming as well, flared ends with threaded collar fittings kinda like a brake line. Any thoughts on using any kind of sealant in threads or on the flare of the tubing to avoid leaks?
Just trying to put this back together only one time and no leaks. Thanks
