Power steering question

There is no real drain plug on them. There were two different power steering pump designs used on them, one with the reservoir sitting on top of the pump body and one with the reservoir integrated around one end of the pump body. Neither of them had a drain plug specifically designed to drain the system.

Easiest way to replace as much of the old fluid in the system system as possible is to remove the return line from the reservoir and drain the reservoir and return line into a bucket, then put it back together, replace the filter and fill it with fresh fluid and then run it for a little while, turning the steering wheel back and forth from full stop left to full stop right and back several times. Then repeat the entire procedure. That should replace a high percentage of the old fluid with new fluid. The only way to get more of the old fluid out is to remove the hoses and cylinders and purge them individually.

Thanks. What I need to do is get the water out. It"s been below zero here but
supposed to warm in the 40s at the end of the week.
