860 remote hydraulic removal

I picked up an 860 last year. The three point hiccups near the top and won't even make it to the top. Based on what I have read, I am pulling the hydraulic cover this weekend and replacing the leather and rubber o-ring's as well as the piston. I picked up a basic kit that has several small o-rings and a new gasket for the cover. The tractor has a remote hydraulic system that I am thinking of removing. I do not see a use for it and it is in the way of the seat I want to put on. Can I simply remove the three connections circled in green and put brass plugs in the holes?

Thanks in advance

Who knows. That's a farmerized system.

In any event, I would remove it as it uses copper tubing for hydraulic lines.

Worst case, you may need another block off plate.

Be certain to replace the cam follower pin and readjust the draft and position control settings while you have the cover off.

o the best of my knowledge, starting from bottom of your photo, and working toward the top, the first (bottom) line is return to sump, the next is "test port" which is direct connection to internal lift ram cylinder, but I can't see enough here to ID the top connection. Maybe another view where center bolt in cover is visible?

Thanks for your guys help. I will order a new block off plate. I assume this and a set of proper o-rings is the correct plate?

I will not link to other sites, but am finding what is referred to as an Inner Hydraulic Lift Control Rod Pin. Those are on lots of sites. Not finding a cam follower pin on any of the parts sites. This is what I am finding.

Here is a better picture of the current plate. I liberally dosed it with thread penetrant in case anything is stuck.

Hiccups indicates an internal leak. And the usual culprit is worn ram piston/rings/cylinder. But there may be other reasons your lift isn't working properly. To save you some time and aggravation, it is imperative to determine the problem before removing the lift cover.

The CNH P/N for the cam follower pin is 374072S. The dimensions are 5/16" X 7/8". In a pinch, you can also use the shank of a 5/16" drill bit.

Thank you. This is a great place to discuss as well as get parts.

I purchased a new piston, leather o-ring and standard o-ring. Thanks for the part number and dimensions for the pin. Those were what I was finding but it is always good to get
confirmation. I am going to just order a new top plate and o-ring kit since I want to remove the remote hydraulics. I would guess nothing has been done in the hydraulic area since
new. I just pulled the original thermostat and flushed out all the rust water. I thought about using a bit of drill shank but will get the correct pin when I purchase the other
parts. Thanks again!
