I found an 801 diesel for sale. Same old
story. Ran 4 years ago, now only runs on
ether. Decent tires, select o speed, .
What would you guys look for? Or would you
cut and run like he!/.

If it's sat for 4 years, it's likely got a stuck metering valve and some bad fuel.

Since you can't test the transmission or the hydraulics or the engine bearings or injection pump you have to assume that all will need extensive work. Injection pump $750, engine overhaul DIY $1,000 transmission overhaul $1,500 hydraulics DIY $250. Average value when working properly $3500.
