I tried using Todays Tractors, but message would not post so I will try here.
Troctor currently will blow a huge bunch of blue gray smoke intermittantly and die if idleing. I traced the problem back to the turbo which would build up a pool of oil in the intake and then suck it in which caused the poor running and then clean up again then on and on. New turbo 1100 dollars, rebuilt 900, 150 core and 50 shipping if core can be rebuilt you get a refund. OK here is the question? Has anyone tried just deleteing the turbo or found a different supplier than New Holland?

I have a very rare turbo on my 14.0L Detroit. I found the make and model on its tag and Googled it up. Found it at an independent diesel/turbo shop.

If you can find that info on yours, you might try going the Google route and see what you come up with.

Check with your local diesel injection pump repair shop.

Likely, they rebuild turbos and/or have a source of rebuilt units.

I would check the oil return line. IT must be free and clear!!!!!! to allow the oil to drain away from the turbo. It can not be full of sludge. Make absolutely sure the line is fully clean from bottom of turbo, to where it goes into the pan.. push a wire through the elbow at the bottom as well.. MUST be clean or oil will build up in the turbo.

Thanks for the help. Looked it up by manufacturer and it is a fairly common turbo, rebuilt one for 175. Tubes were clean, lot of wobble in spool.
