There's a guy over on the SOS page on Facebook that is claiming his 5000 SOS operates as though it's in 4th range in 1,2,3 & 4. I can't conceive of any scenario where this is possible?

Am I missing something?

Maybe! But Murphy would have to work pretty hard to come up with this scenario. Different bands and clutches, bands and clutches that have to work properly for the other rations in this transmission to operate normally, would have to all fail in the proper sequence to come up with this one.
