Old Jubilee with a 5 speed?

Hello all and Merry Christmas.

I picked up a basket case Jubilee (lots of assembly required) with what looks like a 5 speed and an UP Down position. I don't see any info on the Web about it but don't know what keywords to search for. The shifter moves in an arc and can be lifted up or pushed down. Any Ideas? The pattern is

4 2 3
DN UP
5 1 R

Thanks

Tom

Yep! Someone has swapped in that 5 speed or else the tractor's not a Jubilee. Jubilees were only built in 1953 and only with 4 speed transmissions. The hundred series which followed in 1955 looked very similar and may mistake those for Jubilees. The 00s had either 4 speed or 5 speed transmissions. 5 speeds could also have double clutches and live PTOs.

A 5 speed will not match up with a NAA (Jubilee) center section. An NAA and an early 640 engine are different? Where?

If it's a Jub/NAA the center of the axle will have a nut like this

If it's a 600 the center of the axle will not have a nut and will be flush like this. Now what is on your tractor?

Kirk, Thanks. Mine has the flush axle hub, not the nut. The serial number on the bell housing is horizontal diamond 67222 and then another horizontal diamond, The six looks like a lower case "b". It is an overhead valve motor that supposedly was rebuilt by a local (and reputable ) engine rebuilder.

I did come with rear fenders that have the stamped Ford logo on them but they are in woefully sad shape, beat up, bondo'd and a broken inner brace on one of them.

The seat also has a rather neat rubber torsion spring assembly.

I'll get some pics on my computer so I can post them here.

Thanks

Tom

There oughta be a second number on the bell, right above the one you just cited. It ought to be something like 650 or 660 or possibly 850 or 860. This designates that it's not a Jubillee, but is one of the hundred (00) series tractors. Both of the 50 models would have a transmission PTO. Both of the 60 models would have a live PTO.

Well son of a gun, there is an 850 stamped above that serial number of 67222. That explains a whole lot. Now I won't feel bad about not restoring it to pristine
condition.

What year would it be then? Thanks.

Tom
