961 front snow blade

Just curious. Has anyone ever mounted a snow blade on the front of a 961? If it's even possible? I have the back blade on mine but a front blade would be nice. Thinking of the one with the cylinder that raises and lowers it I believe on it's own frame??? If possible, the hunt is on!

Yes it is possible. A neighbor of mine while growing up had 1 on his 960, the earlier version of you tractor. He originally had the plow on a NAA but sold that 1 when they got out of the dairy herd. He bought the 960 and made a new frame to fit that tractor. I believe the frame was 1/4" 4"x4" angle iron. 2 pieces ran from under the rearend to the front( 1 each side) with angle iron supports/hanger that mounted to the side near the engine. i had a couple pictures of it . If I find them I'll post them.

Good Luck

Ford offered a snow blade I had one that was new enough it was blue prolly went on 2000 i made mounts to put it on a Kubota and it worked nice spring trip So there are a
few out there somewhere Good Luck scott

All the ones I have seen on the row crops have been home made. The link shows a snowplow on a later row crop 4000 with wide front. They did make a loader for the NF row crop. Shouldn't be hard to
adapt a snowplow blade to that. Here is a photo of my 631 that I recently stuck a snowplow blade to the one arm loader manure bucket. My 950 NF also has the one arm loader but would have been a
little harder to attach because it has a material style bucket. If you find a one arm loader you should be able to hook up a blade or you can just build a frame.

I realize the blade isn't on the tractor in the picture but it does show (somewhat) how the frame is made/attached. George(the man in the picture) built that frame to fit the plow. He previously had the plow on a NAA but that frame would not fit on the 960. The plow was a manually angled snow plow.
BTW, the 960 had power steering.
