703 loader lift capabilities

Hi, I have a 1962 641 with a 703 loader and I am
getting a lift delivered Tuesday and the skid weight
is 1840 lbs. Will my loader lift that? Bucket was
removed and forks installed. Thanks, Steve

That would be outside of the loader capacity. Below is a PDF for the Operating and Assembly manual for 19-97 and 19-105 loader (AKA 703). Maximum load at full lift is 1200 lb., breakaway lift capacity 2500 lb. Maybe you could finagle and squeak by, I don't know but that's a lot of weight for a 703.

Andy, thanks for the reply. My loader is a 19-201 with double bucket cylinders. I heard a conflicting report that it will lift 2000#. Regardless, I am going to ask the local farmer if he can standby by with his big JD?s. I going to try first. Weight is 1840#. I will let you know how it works out. I do have a new pump on it.

Just for the sake of discussion as far as I can tell the 19-201 seems to be a "late model" 19-97 ('60-'63 or thereabouts for the 19-201). The parts diagrams at Messicks show the same lift arms and cylinders for the 19-201 as the 19-97 so I'm not sure why the lift capacities would change drastically.

Nontheless good luck unloading, always good to have a neighbor with a huge John Deere (BTW I've been a recipient of such a relationship in the past)
