OK, I'll take the blame.

It's sure to snow now! I got all the weights and blade back on the 961. Snow just getting too close not to be ready. Have 24# in the front and 16# in the rears with the weights on. Sound about right?

Hi I don't care if you do make it snow . I'm just gonna cry the day you come back here and say you scratched that great looking tractor, doing
something with it. Regards Robert

Oh my gosh what a nice tractor....and I hate guys like you that can keep such a clean shop. Mine looks like a disaster area. Great job man.

The rears look too hard. There should be some sidewall deflection, especially when the rear blade is carried. Try 14 and see what it looks like.
A bigger footprint = more traction.

That's a beauty!
As for the snow, not gonna blame you or your
tractor. It took me quite a few winters but
I've learned it has to do do with our
latitude and not much else.

I think that the weights, especially the front really add to the appearance. I have two sets of rears and have been planning to put one set on my restored 961 as well as my front weight box. My plan has been to paint them red, but now I have a buyer for the tractor who is willing to pay good $ for it so I think that it will be leaving soon. I plan now to put the weight box on my 971 which gets very light in the front when pulling my baler and wagon uphill.

Hey worked for me, chains on yesterday, ready to go first thing this
morning. Mine's done up in a patina of dirty oil and grease, not so
much worried about wear and tear anymore! Seriously you have a great
looking tractor.

I'm glad your a long ways north of me, Tom. I don't want your snow down here.

Love your 961!

Curious. Did you ever sell the wide front axle? If so, curious to know how much you were able to get for it if you don't mind. 10+ years ago, they were going for around $500, even if not in great condition as is yours, but things have changed much in the past 10 years.

Dean

Yep, you did it Tom! I spent a couple hours running the
snowblower last night. Should have done it again tonight
but it's going to have to wait until tomorrow.
