Lift ok, no draft

I picked up a nice 601 Workmaster. Guess I never noticed the three point wasn't lifting all the way up when I bought it, but it did leak down, so I removed the lift cover and inspected the parts. Cylinder and piston looked good so I just put a new O-ring and gasket on the piston and reassembled it. It now stays up pretty good. But I noticed it doesn't lift all the way up, nor does it work at all in draft position. Any advise would be helpful and appreciated.

Before replacing the lift cover you should have replaced the cam follower pin and adjusted the draft and position control mechanisms.

I've read a little about adjusting them, but never attempted it myself. I'll get a new follower pin as you recommended and then see if I can find a method of adjusting the unit without the jig that people talk about. Someone mentioned there is good information in an IT TO20 book about it. I'll have to do some research before ripping it apart again. Hate to do trial and error on such a big heavy job.
Thanks for the advise

If you precisely follow the "alternative" (no special tools needed) procedures in the FO-20 manual, it will work as intended.

If you have insufficient threads on the turnbuckle, replace the draft control fork.

Is this pin replaceable and Are they still available, or should I weld it up and grind it down? I would worry about screwing up the hardness temper of the pin.

It is pressed in ....I worried about welding on it too. What I did was press it out and turn it 180 and use the other sie for the next 50 years

You dont want it harder than the cam surface or your cam will wear. I think ZANE has a kit for the pin and tools to adjust. Just put his name in the search bar.
