4000 gear ratios

Is the ring and pinion in a 4000 SU the same as that in a 4000 AP? I would think the SU would have taller gears than the AP but dont know.
How about an AP with 38s vs 30s? Same ratio?
Assuming all are 8 speeds btw.

My books show only a 15.75:1 for eight- speed 4000's and 4000SU's, regardless of tire options. The SOS used a 30.01:1 with all tire sizes, and was not available in the SU.

It seems the SUs would have been slow compared to an AP with 38s or even 30s.

They are slower

They only offered two ring and pinion ratios for a 4000
3.50-1 for 8 spd models
6.67-1 for SOS tractors
They all used the same planetary's in the axles.

My SU with 14.9-28's is a couple mph slower in high gear than my all propose with 16.9-30's.

Same book shows top speed of 16.8 mph on 12.4x38's and 15.0 mph on 14.9x28's... about a 12% difference.
