1951 8N air cleaner related starting issue

I'm having issues getting my 1951 8N started. I recently purchased it and do not know it's history so I have slowly been going over it. So far I've done new oil and filter, new plugs and wires, starter bendix and cleaned the fuel bowl screen and in trying to clean the air cleaner I had some difficulties getting it apart for cleaning. I ran the engine in the garage with the air cleaner removed while trying to get the oil cup off the cleaner. I was unable to the cleaner apart so I ordered a new one off of yesterday tractors and installed it tonight however now the tractor won't start with it installed, if I remove it, it starts right up. Any suggestions on where to look? I have not yet rebuilt the carb but this my be next on the list.

I am getting plenty of fuel out of the carb drain plug and using a spark plug tester I am getting spark to each cylinder.

Thanks!

There is an N board dedicated strictly to the 9N, 2N & 8N tractors.

However, it sounds like you're either pinching a wire and shorting out the system or that new air cleaner has shipping plugs in it somewhere.

I'm new to the forum and just noticed there was an N series forum and posted my question over there. Thanks for the input. I could do a continuity test on my plug wires and see if I'm getting any type of short. The electrical on these tractors isn't pretty simple so it wouldn't take much to track down a short of that's the culprit
