Hey all,

In the process of doing a bunch of small repairs and whatnot.

Question#1: my oil pressure gauge tubing is connected to the front side of the hydraulic pump. Is this standard or has a previous owner installed it here?

Question #2: I?m upgrading to electronic injection along with a 12 volt conversion. I have the pertronix 1249. After watching a video of it I?m can?t figure out how to install it. Does anyone here have any pictures they could post to assist me? Thanks!

Question #3: after I get the tractor all up and running my next plan is to clean out the extremely heavy amount of sludge that?s in the bottom of the differential. Anyone have any advice on this? I was thinking about dumping a bucket of carb cleaner in it to eat through the sludge. It?s so thick I had to poke a hole in it just to get the old fluid to drain.

Look carefully at line, it will likely be connected to engine block behind the pump, just where it belongs.
You will complicate starting matters less, if you get it running before making EI conversion.
With sludge as you describe it, no solvent will do the job. Take apart enough to get in there and scrape & scoop it out. BTDT.

Agree w JMOR.

Dont want to start a flame about EI here but my only reason to switch would be if the centrifugal advance weights are broken and replacements not avail. Other than that I have had very good results wiht 12V and conventional
distributor.

As far as the differential goes, other than the satisfaction of de-crudding it, is there a reason to do that? Sometimes the desire to make things 'right' ends up making things very wrong. BTDT.
