Can you swap out a CAV pump with a sims pump i am swapping out engines and i need the simms pump on here so i can put the throttle linkage etc back on and i can change out the lines also. Thanks

Will work IF the front timing cover and correct pump drive gear is used, parts are different for each pump.

I thought the timing covers were the same but the front block plate had to be changed. Dunno about the gear.

UD, you are correct, the front cover is the same, it's the plate that the pump mounts to between the block and timing cover that is different. The drive gears are also different.
