Model 5550 questions

Hello I just took delivery of a Ford 5550 backhoe/loader. I am
very new to tractors and have a few questions I hope to get
answers for. First there is a t handle on the floor sort of under
the drivers seat. What is it for? Second there is another pedal
(I call it a pedal because it looks like it was designed to be
stepped on.) right up against the box housing the ignition and
throttle controls. Again what is it for? Also I haven?t been able
to find anything online on the motor oil. It?s a 3 cylinder diesel.
I want to go full synthetic if I can. Any information would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks

"T" handle is the parking brake lock, step on pedal, pull up to lock, only other pedals I can think of should be a foot throttle and the differential lock

The two 5550s we had had four cylinder engines. I have a 555 that has a three cylinder.

I was told by the owner it was a 3 cylinder. It is marked on the bucket arms Ford 5550. Tomorrow in the daylight I will count the lines of the injection pump. I thought I saw 4.

Thanks I was wondering where the parking break was. The previous owner said that it didn?t have one. It must be a differential lock it is right over the rear end.

I don't remember. A good 30 weight diesel oil. Some were in my garage i have a brand new tachometer and a coup!e of gauges we bought for one that caught on fire but we never put them in. If you are interested i will look for them and post pictures.
