ford 3000, no hydraulics

Afternoon: I got a problem or a really dumb thing to have done??
I drained the rear section of a 1975 model 3000, removed and replaced the paper filter, removed PTO shifter, took the
metal filter out, flushed it well and re-installed.
I did find that someone had put "blue" silicone sealant around the suction pipe where it passes through the casing, no
o-ring found in the groove, but there is now, and no silcone bandaid.
when I lowered the housing top, I did lift up on the 3 pt arms, and the connecting rod from arms to lift piston, came
out its place, I put it back in place, and am quite sure it stayed there.
Now when the tractor was started, there is no lifting motion on the 3pt arms, no action at the front on the plow lift
cylinder.
Where the pump is above the oil level, is there a method or need to prime the pump? (gear drive from upper left engine
side)
If the 3pt connecting arm is still out of its seat on the piston, could the piston have been pushed out of the cylinder
at the first start/lift operation, and is now laying inside, and with just basically an open piece of pipe, all the oil
goes that route and nothing gets sent to run the front lift cylinder?
I did replace all o-ring seals, besides putting the missing one back in place.
Thats my best guess, before taking the top off again.
Any ideas?

If the dog bone was out of position the lift would still raise a few inches but it wouldn't effect the hydraulics.
Sounds like you need to bleed the air out of the pump, less one I worked on had a allen head plug on the back of the pump.
Remove the plug and start the engine, it should shoot oil out the hole, if not give it a few moments to bleed the air out.
Once oil is coming out the hole shut the engine down and reinstall the plug, the lift should start working again.

Look on YouTube for video "How to Easily Fix Tractor Hydraulics"
Using compressed air to get primed.

Had the same thing on my 2000. I put a hose barb and ran clear tubing back to the fill port. Hang on to the tubing, it will pulsate. Even though sit looked like solid fluid in the tubing while it was running, when I shut it off there were still bubbles. Run it till it's clear, sometimes it take a little while. Don't run it if there's not at least some oil flowing.

Evening: Tks to the help there guys, I knew there had to be a simple reason, just over thought it with the dog bone idea.
Took the plug out of pump, and of course it being the highest point in the system. out came the air and oil. Used the bard idea and a piece of hose into a 4 liter container, filled it twice and things started to work, and getting better with use.
Now another question: The 3pt will NOT lift a 5ft snowplow with the control lever all the way up[ arms lift when un-loaded], BUT if i push a vertical lever on the tranny top, right side, directly behind the aux valve: forward and against spring tension. The arms lift every time [ loaded] and drop down when the lever is released.
If the arms are allowed to go full up , they stay there when this lever is no longer pushed forward, otherwise they drop when the lever is let go at any other non full up position.
Sounds like a stuck spool? not my machine, so maybe it came here this way, but was not mentioned as part of problems needing attention.
