I am transplanting the hydraulics from a 601

to my 821 (only has PTO). I have the hydraulics lid

on a motor stand and am ready to install

it on my 821.
First, I noticed a ?plug?/valve? near the

bottom of the 601 that is not on my 821.

Should I try to remove it?

I plan on taking the next steps, let me know if I'm wrong.

1) Gasket on lid is excellent should I just coat

821 housing with Permitex blue?

2) Use OLD O rings??

3)Anything necessary on hydraulics after 30+ years

of in-operation, while on motor puller??

4) Things to do to transplant Piston pump and

manifold? (4 new O rings?).

5) pump is pushing fluid on 601 by hand cranking.

do I just fill manifold with fluid before attaching

pump?.

6) Torque specs on lid and pump bolts?

Did I miss anything??

I didn't order the gasket(mine is ok to reuse). I'm hoping the O-rings are in the gasket and o-ring kit I ordered from YT

Where did you order the O rings and gasket from?

Yes a light tap with a long block of wood from inside the box. It will fall out the bottom. Of course the bottom plate must off. I took mine today and may replace the orings when my gaskets and o-ring kit comes tomorrow

I see the relief valve is in the 601.

I have removed the bottom plate and I am not

sure if I use a block of wood from above to

push (tap) the protruding valve to fall

out the bottom.

I just removed that plate we're talking about not 20 minutes ago on my 640. I don't remember seeing much in there. Will check again after dinner

I know there is a removable plate under the

hydraulics lines outside underneath the reservoir.

Is this where the relief valve is located?

Parts book says thats Hydraulic pump relief valve. I would get a new OEM gasket for that. Hylomar makes a good sealant. It dries quickly, use sparingly, put on your finger and smear it

Are you sure that isn't top of over pressure relief valve?
