Does anyone know if the fuel sending unit is supposed to sit centered in the mounting or offset to the right side?

Davidfindley,

Unfortunately your photo has no orientation to indicate where north is on the tractor. Or South towards the driver.

I do see a notch in the side. I will have to look at my 4000 and compare it. I hope they are all the same.

I forgot to ask. What year is your 3600? Is it gas or diesel?

Thank you for the replies! The sending unit is in but it's not centered in the opening in the top of the tank: https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0nGf693ZG6qX72

Is that ok or do I have it inserted into the tank incorrectly?[/url]

If it is like the Ford 4000 there is a notch to align the position of the float. If it is not correct the bayonet fitting won't go in.

I believe they only go in one way to have the screws line up

3600 should use a lock ring, not screws. But it is indexed and goes only one way regardless.

Ok was just assuming it was the same as the older 3 cylinder I had, not sure what my 3910 has I thought it was screws but don't recall, I abandoned the sensor and went simple gauge anyhow!
