Rock shaft

Anyone ever replace the rock shaft on the hydraulic lift cover of a 800 series Ford. Are they pressed in? Fit to the bushing and then slide in? Any instructions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

The lift cover bushings come out with the rock shaft. Keep in mind that the center of the rock shaft where it fits into the rocker is bigger than the rock shaft bushings so when you press the rock shaft out the bushing comes with the rock shaft. Press & proper support required to avoid breaking the cover casting.

Hobo-your description and picture was a very big help.

I'll be trying to find someone with a press and will make the pipe support you describe.
