steering leak

I just got a 1965 ford 3000 with power steering and when you turn it back and forth it leaks from under the steering wheel. I removed the steering wheel and didn't find a seal but got the book out and the seal is in the steering arm, my question is how would it leak up the steering post. I have the front end lifted so that I could turn it back and forth . Thanks.

First go buy the right manual for it if
you dont have it. You will need it to
reassemble it properly. Click below
It is your upper seal #35.
Pull the cowel around the fuel tank and h
ave at it. You would be foolish not to
replace the lower seal at the same time
#14. I also replace the 2 orings #33.
MARK YOUR LINES before you remove them.
Be careful when you remove the hydraulic
block #23 (24-30) so all the little
plungers, springs and balls don't drop out
the bottom.
It is not a hard job. Holler if you need
help and welcome to the Ford board.

I did this job last year on a '72 model 3000 and this summer
on another tractor. That one was a x01 series Ford.
Ultradog's advice was spot on then, as I believe it is now.
I took his advice and did all the seals and O-rings while in there.
They're reasonably priced compared to doing it twice.
Getting the sheet metal off and back on was the worst part.
