I just drained all the fluids on my 841. The transmission came out all white . I know it means water in the oil but should I flush it or refill and run it then drain and change it again? The hydraulic pump oil was thick and clean . When I pulled the the plug for the axle nothing came out but a little poke with the screw driver and out it came and it was a lot thinner than the hydraulic pump oil. I thought that you could use the same oil in all three?

Yes. You may use anything that meets or exceeds the NH 134 spec in all three compartments.

Out of the factory, however your tractor would have been filled with the heavier gear oil in the transmission and differential and a lighter hydraulic fluid in the center housing (hydraulic section). This is what I would recommend. Many others will recommend the 134 in all.

Bear in mind that if one uses the 134 exclusively any leaks will be exacerbated.

oops! I forgot. I would run a change of whatever lube you choose in your transmission and change it again when it begins to look grungy.

in that very wet tranny, I would do this. run to walmart and buy cheap ATF fluid. grab a gallon. get 2 pints of 90% rubbing alcohol. Add that to the trans cavity, then dump in a quart or two of one of the following: kerosene, diesel fuel, or mineral spirits.

Now start the machine and vive it a victory lap around the pasture. nothing high speed, you just want to splash and mix.

The atf is full of detergents to suspend gunk to help it drain.

the alcohol is a polar solvent and will disolve pooled water and let it drain out in soloution.

the diesel/k1, or mineral spirits is a petrosolvent and will thin the mix and help disolve any emulsified water/grease/oil, and when you drain it it will flow out faster to help it carry out more junk.

After that flush, you could dump in another quart of diesel/k1/mineral spirits and just let it drain thru.. drip dry.. then refill with your utf or gear oil and go.
