641 Charging light Resister Questions

I converted my 641 gas over to a single wire 12volt alternator and installed electronic ignition with a flame thrower coil. The new coil has at least 3oms of resistance, so can I completely eliminate the white in line resister that came with my alternator kit?
Also I don't have an amp gauge, so is there a way to make the old indicator dash light work with this new 12volt system? I do have a 12volt bulb, but not sure how to wire it in.
Thank for any advice or help

It all depends on what specific alternator & what specific VR that alternator uses. There are no blanket one size fits all answers!

Electric ignition installation instructions should tell about coil. Normally 3 ohms needs no extra resistor.

Assuming you have a Delco alternator. Remove edge cover plug and check between the 1 and 2 tabs. If there is no shorting jumper you could try connecting original indicator lamp to #1 tab. This might also excite it to begin charging without reving the engine.

You were right. I didn't need the resister for the setup I'm using. In fact it seems to run better not too. Better spark.
Thank You.

You are correct. Did some research and found out what I had and what I needed and didn't need. Thank You.
