Pin for front bolster is threaded type. Retainer for pin is gone and threads are gone where pin is supposed to screw into front bolster. It is my plan to weld the pin in place. Want to install the front end loader. Shaft for front end mounted hydraulic pump goes through center of pin which is hollow.
Have been unable to find a used bolster so need to make repairs to one I have. Will weld pin in red area IN picture

or you could weld in a repair bushing, that way it would be easier for the next owner to repair .

That's the wrong bolster, the type you need is stamped, that's the later style for the 3 cylinder ones

Weld the pin in only as a last resort.I don't know if this guy is still in business but he made a quality thereded piece that is welded to the rear side of the bolster.Pfeiffer sales and service. The phone number I have is 262 496 8392.Don't know if that number is currant but worth a shot.

I have done serveral tractors that way for loader damage.

pin must be perfectly aligned when welded so that shaft runs true and does not rub.. thankfully only the top of bolster is worn badly.

I've repaired 2 or 3 front bolsters with Pete Pfeiffers repair plates with good results.

I too, do not know if they are still available.

Sotxbill,

Additional problem is that the bolster has been welded previously. Had to build shims to put between the bolster and engine
in order to make the external shaft for the front mounted pump work. Will be careful and will make sure that the driveshaft for the hydraulic pump fits correctly.

I would weld it in and move on with life. The last one I built up and bored it out I had several hundred in tooling and at least 4 hours of my time into it. I did it just for the experience with a old timer machinist who was willing to help me (baby set me) thur it. OK I did it and accumulated a skill I did not have the next one will get welded in and move on with life.

I will be dead and gone if and when there MAY be a next guy even then its worn out its not going to make that much difference...

Sotxbill,
Thank you for the information. I will weld the pin in and be careful to see that driveshaft for front mounted pump runs true

Dean,

I tried to make contact with person who made repair plates at one time. Unable to contact him.
Thank you,
Chris

Markct,

You are right. just took a picture of one off the internet. Mine is different after looking at it more closely

If he find a used bolster , this one goes to the scrap pile.

If he welds it, this one does not go to the scrap pile until broken up again.
