So a guy who now owns an 8N that I once had the same one that I posted pictures of where he had it sort of up in a tree. He says the clutch pedal is down on the floor board so who knows what I may find. Also back in Dec 2015 this 8N was under water. The guy who now owns it has gotten it running again but he has had all sorts of problem with it ever since. I also will end up working on the hyds on it while messing with the clutch.
Any guess as to what I may find? I figure it is likely to be a split to replace the clutch etc.

You have boasted you can split one faster than any man alive have all the neat stuff to do it... Impress us take pix and tell us what you find...

With any luck, you'll find the clutch linkage broken and
not turning the shaft. Other than that the clutch is perfect.

No, that's not how it works in my world, but I can dream can't I? ;)

I'm hoping it is the clutch pedal linkage and the pin or what ever you want to call it on the cross shaft has broken but knowing this machine and it being under water etc. better chance it the pressure plate is broken or other such major problem. It is now owned by the guy who tried to make it kill him but he did learn a lessen when he got it hung on that tree years ago

e once owned it, but he doesn't know it?
Looks like he thinks he will talk the problem to death instead of following his often repeated words of "diagnose it".

Just making sure I understand correctly - you used to own this 8N, right? Then this guy bought it from you then goes about trying to kill himself on that hill plus took the tractor swimming?

That poor 8N will be so glad to be back 'home and safe' again with you it won't ever want to go back to him.

ope, he drowned the sucker before he sold it to the unsuspecting sole. :(

Well I did not own it but I had found it fixed it up for a friend who then let his cousin barrow it and his cousin then tried to run it along a hill side and slid side ways into a tree etc. then it was sold the to guy who tried to flip it. Then in Dec of 2015 Missouri had many flooded areas and it was I none of those area where water got high and it was covered. The clutch problem is likely to be part of that flooding. I have not seen this tractor in years and I have yet to see it and all I have to go by is what the guy has told me on the phone so I have no idea of what all I will find
