4000 Fenders

Bought a 62 4000 diesel row crop and the fenders sit way up above the tires. They have ford logo impression and grab handles on the front. Wondering if they are off another model tractor?

They very likely came off another model.
The same fenders will bolt onto most any of the smaller Fords from 1939 till 1983 and beyond. The grab handle makes me wonder if it came off a 6000. Those they would have used a spacer to raise them higher and they had a grab handle.
A photo would help us id them.

I have a set of those fenders on my 850. They were in such pristine shape when I found them I couldn't pass them up. They were taken from a 4000. They are exactly like the original later 800 series fenders with the exception of the handle and the riser that bolts between the fender and axle.

Monkey grips were on the 6000 model. The fenders on the 6000 model are the same as the 800 model that's why they stick up so high on the row crop. The ones on the 6000 also had a bracket under the fender to raise in above the wheel. You need to get a pair of row crop fenders for proper fit. LCG tractors will also have the fenders you need.
I added a pair of monkey grips to my row crop fenders on my 950 for a little added assistance.

Good term - monkey grips.
I have one here that came off a 6000.
The plastic cover was shot so I tore it off, sandblasted and primed it and will paint it one of these days.
Plan to mount it on the fuel tank cowel of my 4200 one of these days as its a long way up to get on the seat.
