selectomatic band adjustment

First off... it is Select-O-Speed, not Selectomatic. Second, there were two different Ford 4000 series that had a S-O-S transmission available, one had a 4 cylinder engine and the other had a 3 cylinder engine. While the band adjustments are similar between them, the exact procedures are different, so make sure that you get the correct manual.

It is very easy to do, but like Bern said you need the manual. You will also need a torque wrench that reads in inch lbs.

(quoted from post at 14:36:14 10/31/17) How do I adjust the bands on my Ford 4000 Select-o-matic. My reverse is not working.

Joe

While it never hurts to adjust bands, if done properly, that may not be your issue. What does "not working" mean? Does it just go to neutral? Does it do whatever it does in both R1 & R2?

Reverse can not malfunction on its own. It has to have some friends when it does. Thoroughly warm up that transmission and tell us what other ratios are "not working."
