sherman type

Just brought home 1963? HD Industrial Diesel parts tractor.It was close by,it was cheap, $600 and it has the better power steering that I'll put on my 1801.The tractor has been outside uncovered for 30 years, everything is locked solid.The sherman trans. handle looks like it broke off.I'm wondering what kind of sherman it would be. Model# 41400DS Seril# 53984 Thanks, Mike

It would be a reverser or a combo. Post a photo of the broken handle if you can.

The handle is missing, but it's a 4 speed tranny if that tells us anything. Thanks, Kirk

If you can see the color
Red is combo

Also round or square shaft

Square shaft. Hole is chocked up with hornets nest but I'm going to scratch around to see some color. Thanks,gents.

Sounds like a combo.

Also the shift lever should look
like it is bent around a circle,
not straight
