Tw25 wiring problems

Need help. What is this seloinoid in the back of the dash. It makes a loud click when you turn the key. Its a first gen tw25. Nothing in the cab electrical works EXCEPT the key switch. Dual power doesnt work none of the gauges work its stuck in 4wd. I pulled all the plugs apart nothing is corroded i see no bare spots in any of the harnesses i pulled the 2 main plugs apart out side of the cab nothing wrong there either. Cant figure it.

That is most likely the main cab power relay, which sends power to most of the things that do not work. Just because it clicks does not mean
it's making good contact.

I think what you have circled there is the flasher relay. There should be a 5 prong 12V 30A cube relay. Part number 87339422. I can hear a relay click when the key is turned on in our TW30.

Should be the ignition load relay, which from what I've seen is just a headlight relay (4RD). Swap another one in there and see what happens.
Otherwise it's usually the bulkhead connectors...

Mine always click....if they are getting power. but it should be near the black turn signal relay, unless someone has upgraded the power relay from the original ford headlight style relay.

problems areas on those..

power relay. looses internal ground due to corrosion, and no longer clicks when key is turned on.

fuse panel and fuses need to be pulled/ wiggled and put back in, due to minor corrosion on contacts

back of fuse panel will burn and heat up, burning off some of the wires.

plug at firewall deteriorates and does not connect well to all the exernal wiring..

dash panel backside has a foil circuit board that can corrode and you need to clean all the various connections at the plug, and each gauge/light/terminal. Gauges use little brass springs that push against the foil board and also can loose connection.

a/c and wiper switch will rust up do to moisture and no longer work.

Well see thats the thing ive pulled the harness apart all over pulled almost all the plugs looked at the fuses everything and cant find anything wrong at all. About 5 or 6 fuses have power out of 24 of them and like 3 pines on the big firewall plug have power to them. Does anyone know if i can get one of those aftermarket relays online anywhere

Just go into any parts store and ask for a cube headlight relay... In theory, if the still have a parts man left behind the counter... they
will know what you need.
If all else fails, a heavy truck parts supplier will have it.

New style,, you have to run a ground to make the newer type work. d I buy these 10 at a time and use as needed.

The original cab power relay looked a bit like this one, but longer and narrower.....It used the mounting screw.. to the chassis for a ground. However normally if the relay clicked, it was good. It was the none clickers that had the bad internal ground contact..
