Tell me about this remote valve

It came off a 3000. I finally got enough paint off to read the
writing on top. I understand from the manual how that works.
But the manual doesn't show a valve quite like this one.

What I want to know is this: Why does it have two spools and
four hose outlets but only one handle? There isn't a place to
put a second handle as far as I can see. It doesn't appear that
this handle could be turned around and used to run the other
spool either because it would be pointed/angled down.
I don't see anything obviously broken, but I suppose it could
have been modified somehow to remove the second handle.

Thanks Shaun, I see exactly what you're saying and how it worked.
That thing is broke off so smooth, or possibly ground down,
that it looks like the head of a bolt. It did not look or feel broken
to me when I looked.
It's on the tractor now, works fine on that one side.

I would guess my best bet would be to make my own handle
rather than try to find a used one. But I'll do some searching anyway.

It looks like a Tisco style valve.
New handles are available for them.
Maybe the little swivel ball too.
Worth contacting a tisco seller to see.
Otherwise buy the handle and make the ball
bolt on a lathe.
No picture

Thanks Jerry, that does look very similar.
Seems the one that is missing would have to be a different shape
then the one I have so it would clear the current handle, but maybe
not. Maybe the angle is just right so that they can be the same.
I'll check into it and let you know what I find out.

It's a TISCO dual spool.

I have one on my 55 860 and I sold a complete kit (everything) about a year ago.

Yes, handles and ball pivot bolts are still available from TISCO, or were about 6-8 years ago.

With all of the changes in TISCO, I would try to get one now rather than waiting.

The handles are different, the one that's missing raises up and sets above the one you have. I have 2 of those valves, if you don't need a double I'd be willing to trade you a good single valve and pay a little difference.

As for the writing on the valve there's a lock nut and bolt with a screwdriver slot in the front of the valve, screwed in is for operating dual action cylinders that have hoses connected to both ends, screw the bolt out till it stops for cylinders having only one hose connected (single action).

Thanks Destroked, I'd like to have the double on this tractor.
I want to use the second set to turn my snowblower shoot.
The current set raises and lowers the front blade.
Any idea where I might get that second handle?

IIRC, I have a couple of extra dual remote handles. Again, IIRC, one of these is for a TISCO dual spool valve.

I'll need to check to see if my memory is correct.

That said, handles for these TISCO valves were available from TISCO as recently as 6-8 years ago.

Just checked the most likely spot where I would expect to find extra remote valve handles. I do have one or two but did not find one for a TISCO valve.

I also checked my 860. The 1 and 2 handles are the same.

Check with a GOOD TISCO dealer, one that will take the time to check the TISCO catalogue and available stock. I think that this handle is still available, as is the pivot bolt.

Don't delay. TISCO is collapsing.

"Don't delay. TISCO is collapsing."

Their parts' quality seem to support that thinking Dean.
Same with Sparex and A&I. Products have gone way down hill.
The AGCO dealer sells A&I as a last resort. Because, they said,
A&I is owned by John Deere. I didn't bother to research that.
All of them seem to be going down hill to me.

I really appreciate you looking through your stash of parts for me.
It should be an easy fix one I find the handle and ball post.
I can make the ball post if needed, I did for my 960's dual valve.
That's a different post obviously, but the same idea.

If you still have my email address would you email me?
I think I have lost your email address somehow.
Mine should be open on YT too.

That looks like the same valve UD, thanks for the pics!
In the pictures it looks like the top handle has a higher raise.
That's what I was imagining was needed for them to clear.
Easy enough to bend a lower one to use as the upper by the looks.

Thanks for the photo UD, that shows the upper handle with more rise than the lower as I mentioned.
The handles are cast but can be heated and bent, I'm just not real good at bending cast.

"I'm just not real good at bending cast."

I don't know if I'm any good at it either, never tried on one of these.
I realize it will need to be heated, which I have the tools to do.
I'll see if I can make it work and let everyone know how it turns out.
Still haven't found that ball stud. May have to make that part.

The handles in the photos are different than those on the TISCO valve on my 55 860 bought in the mid 1990s. The are also different from the handles on the complete (everything) new and unused TISCO valve assembly that I sold about one year ago.

The handles on both of these valves were identical (1 and 2) and both have blue plastic coverings over the ends of the handles.

Most likely TISCO redesigned the handles such that both were identical in order to save cost.

Still think that you should check with a TRUSTED TISCO dealer for a NOS handle.

I do not keep email addresses but you can respond to this message.

FWIW: I will not respond to other replies.

I got the handle from Tisco today. It is identical to the handle
that is on this valve. The blue rubber is missing from the old one.
It will fit and clear the current handle without bending.

I haven't found the ball pivot though. I may have to make that.

Thanks everyone!
