I BOUGHT A OLD FORD TRACTOR, DONT KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD BE OF ASSISTANCE. HOOD SAYS 1801, ITS CURRENTLY BLUE AND HAS YELLOW LOADER AND BACKHOE, LOOKS LIKE IT WAS ONCE RED?
I FOUND THESE NUMBERS ON FLAT CASTING SURFACE BY STARTER.
1811-D

HOPING I CAN GET SOME INFO ON IT. CURRENTLY NOT RUNNING TRYING TO GET IT FIGURED OUT.

The 1801 heavy duty industrial is basically the same as the 4000
heavy duty industrial only with crappy steering. The D in your
model number stands for diesel. Since there is no S in your
number I assume there is no Sherman trans. Most HD's had
shermans unless you have a select-O-speed. Most of the
engine/trans/rear are covered in the standard Manuel. Good luck
with your new tractor

CORRECT, IT IS A DIESEL AND DOES HAVE THE SELECT-O-SPEED. THATS ANOTHER ISSUE IN ITSELF. IVE BEEN SCREWING AROUND ALL DAY TRYING TO GET IT TO START(I DID PURCHASE A MANUAL BUT WAITING FOR DELIVERY). I CAN GET FUEL TO THE INEJCTION PUMP ALL DAY LONG BUT NOTHING OUT OF IT. THIS THING RAN 2 YEARS AGO, IM ASSUMING EITHER THE PUMP IS STUCK INSIDE AND NOT PUMPING, OR THEY HAVE SOEM SORT OF SHUT OFF. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THEY JUST USED A MECHANICAL SHUT OFF CLOSE THROTTLE SO FAR AND IT SHUTS DOWN OR IF IT WAS ELECTRICAL. I DONT SEE WIRES BUT SOMEONE ELSE HAS BEEN IN THERE.

ON THE TRANSMISSION, I CANT GET IT TO SHIFT WITH CABLE. IF I REMOVE COVER I CAN SHIFT IT ALL DAY WITH A WRENCH AND VERY LITTLE EFFORT. IS THERE SOEMTHING DUMB IM MISSING?

They shut off when the hand throttle is moved fully forward. I have to pull the throttle past 1/4 open for mine to start.
Ether the shifter is stuck or the cable is stuck in the tube, check the tube for kinks or dents that would cause the cable to hang up in the tube.
Be careful when working with the shifter and cable, new parts are no longer available and used stuff is getting harder to find.

I would not suggest you do any work on the SOS without reading and understanding the manual first.
Also turn your capitals off when you type it looks like you are shouting
