I recently purchased a 66 3000 that I am working to get everything back up to par on. I am wanting to pull a trailer for a hay ride this weekend.
The tractor came with the swinging drawbar brackets that are bolted underneath the rear end housing but no drawbar and no pin.
I purchased a bar from tractor supply like this:

I found the pin online. Am I correct that all I do is slide the bar through the bracket and push the pin through? Does the pin go up from the bottom and the clip snaps over it? All of the pictures I have found show the pin down through the top but that seems like a pain having to drop the bracket everytime you want to take the bar on and off.
Also, is this enought to pull a trailer or do I also need the drawbar that goes between the lift arms for this to rest on to support the weight?
