NAA Fuel Sediment Bowl Valve

The fuel shut-off knob the under the gas tank says "Main two turns -- Reserve full open." Question: Since it is one open tank, and since the valve assembly just screws into the bottom of the tank (with a
sleeve screen), how can there be two fuel levels available? Thanks. --Peter

As far as i know, there are 2 seperate openings on the top of the fuel sediment bowl. One sits a couple inches higher then the other. The first 2 turns opens that. Once the fuel level drops, backing out the knob the rest of the way opens the reserve. The problem with the reserve is if the screen on top of the sediment bowl is missing, all the junk in your tank will come out. It's not worth the hassle using reserve if you haven't flushed out your tank. There is a screen in the sediment bowl but I've seen stuff get past that also

There is a stand pipe on it so 2 turns open gas comes from the stand pipe. Al the way open it comes form a part around the stand pipe that sits at the bottom of the tank
