53 Jubilee Pie Weights

Pie weights won't help with your steering.
The weight needs to be further back, like on the 3 pt.
That way the rear axle acts as a fulcrum and takes weight off
the front end. Another option is to add power steering as I did.
With the counter weight and PS, it's a good loader tractor.
Keep and eye on your front axle pin and bushings though.

Over the rear fender you can barely see the top link bracket.
That holds a barrel full of concrete. About 700~800 lbs.

Steering is not what I am complaining
about....can barely pick anything up and get
any traction at all and move....yes steering
is hard but I can deal with that...i cant
deal with not being able to move with weight
any weight at all......

Sorry I misunderstood the problem.
Pie weights would help with that. As would loaded tires or the cement filled barrel on the back. The latter helping with steering also.

I kind of rolled my own power steering.
It was a Charlynn unit off another tractor. 640 maybe.
Made my own brackets for it, etc. Total cost about $300.

Here's a picture of the unit and the mocked-up brackets in my
steering column. There were further refinements obviously.
The main one being that I got rid of the belt-driven pump and
plumbed it directly into the loader hydraulics. Works much better.

I have a complete set of the HD (45#)Pie Weights I'd sell. Set includes: 2 mounting plates; 24 weights; 16 stud extenders; and 24 5/8-11 x 3 hex head bolts with HD washers that fasten the weights to the plates. That being said, you really need more weight on the 3-point as stated. Some have taken 55 gallon drums filled with concrete and fabbed a way to hitch up. Some add a back blade too. Some add ballast in tires -try Rim Guard?. Now, the 600/800 Operators Manual says to NOT use the HD weights on the 600 tractor as they could bust the rear axle. Since the 600 is essentially an NAA Model, I'd be cautious and find a set of the lighter, 29# weights. BUT, you can always just use 6 pie segments too on each wheel, staggered every other space. I knew a guy who had asset of the 45# weights on a 2N tractor, had to retro-fit the plates as they are made for the 8N style center discs. Anyway, he used it to lift many objects, a lot of other tractors for one. and never had any problems with them. My email is open if you want to discuss further...

There is a heavy set on the Buffalo ny Craigslist.(I don't know anything about them)
However with a Jubilee, Ford says to run the lighter set....weak rear.....up to you though.

Loading the rear tires, even with just windshield washer fluid would help some.
But, I'm with the other guys. Even with wheel weight, you still need a counterweight hanging off the back....the 'lever' thing.
(most...all? loader manuals call for the counterweight)
I have roughly 1000 pounds hanging off the back of my current loader tractor Fords. 641, 960, 4cyl 2000. My now sold 841, and the current 960 also run the 1200 lb pie weights in addition to the 1000 lb counterweight.......and it is still possible to lift a rear tire if I hook a root or something while lifting.......

....lol..and yes, on my 2000 that has a very heavy loader, I can get stuck on wet grass with an empty bucket without the counterweight.
