1963 2000 ford power steering

I'm no expert and am going through the same thing and as I was told not long ago go to the very top of the page there is a search box type in "power steering control valve" and click on the search button another search box pops up just hit the search button again. you get some old threads. go down to the first or second one on ford and there a picture showing the bores and parts that go in them. best I can find on the valve spool is the groove on the inside goes to the bottom. Just some other shade tree info mine was missing one of the balls in the reaction valve. I measured it and it measured .2480 (1/4 in). I found a old bearing (if i recall the # on the bearing was br-12 and it's ball measured.2485. I believe that's close enough. I also weigh it and it's 1/10 of a grain difference in weight. used a gun power scale. Hope the above help you. Also if you don't have a manual get one the is specific info to follow or you just wasted a lot of time.

Note that the extra fitting at the top. That
fitting should be about 2 oclock when the
valve is on the tractor.
Note the pencil. That hole gets a special
plunger horns up then two balls then the
other special plunger horns down. The rest
of the holes get an ordinary plunger then a
spring then another plunger.
