Got the manuals and don't ya know, they don't give the "Street names" for the Type of oil for the Power Steering..

Looked like the rear end may use Hydraulic oil.?

Will look at that again...

According to the Manual, this tractor can do everything excepting fix your Breakfast..!

I put a John Deere steering wheel spinner knob on my Ford 3000 and now it will fix my breakfast. It also doubled the horsepower and burned the clutch out. I had to stick some IH emblems on it to slow it down a bit.

I cannot say for sure on a 3000 but the owners manual for he 801 series calls for ATF type F. I use Dextron 4 in my 741S and have for decades and it works just fine

The p/s system isn't fussy as to what oil you use. You really only need engine oil and trans/hydraulic oil that meets NH spec 134D for all compartments on your tractor.
