No luck on springs at parts store. Had some long enough but spring part was to close to hook,so they won't go over brake shoes. Oh well. Got to looking closer and the rectangular part on rod is worn some. To test the theory we wrapped duct tape around it and it made the pedal raise back up. No I won't leave the tape on there we will build it up with the welder then grind it pretty. Next issue was the 3 point lift. Only would lift when we rev motor. Not at idle. So off with the cover. In with new o rings. Also replaced all o rings in the accessory plate. Seemed to work better. We ran it for about 20 mins with a bush hog. Shut it off , cranked back up 5 minutes later and lift was no go at idle again. Rev up. Works. Oh well. Had a good leak out of plug in top of accessory plate. Tightened it up a bit. Next issue it won't stay in 4th gear ,pops out before it gets up to speed. Any ideas? Sometimes it's hard to get in any gear, not sure why. Also tractor got nice and warm but ,the temp gauge,( that looks brand new) never moved off peg, 130 degrees. Coolant was moving around in radiator. All in all good afternoon. Folks that we have been doing fence work and tractor work for want to buy it. Hope to take it to em Tuesday. Needs a proof meter but may let new owner get that. Selling a 6' box blade and 5' bush hog, with it. Thanks to everyone for all the help with this!

One other thing I forgot. After it wouldn't lift at idle after running bush hog ,we added about 1/2 gallon of fluid and then blew air into dipstick hole. After a few minutes the lift worked at idle. We hope that fixes that. I'm guessing that because we blew all the old watery fluid out of system that it just needs a good bleeding?. Also after text drive transmission fluid was oozing out around the cover plate. I'm thinking it's missing a gasket. Everything else was!!

hat side, what corner of which cover plate?

Both sides of transmission cover
plate. Bolts were finger tight.
Tightened em up ,but while blowing
air in the PTO dipstick hole you
could feel air coming out around
the trans cover plate. What do
think about it popping out of 4th?
Rest of gears are fine.

If you're talking about your shifter plate then I may have more bad news for you...there is a supply and return line running through the tranny from the hydraulic pump to center housing. If one of these is broken and leaking it will fill your transmission case with hydraulic fluid, this will cause it to be overfilled and come out around the shifter plate. Do a search on here, plenty of discussions on how to fix.
