Ford 3000 hydraulics

I have had trouble with my hydraulics lifting my 3 point hitch and recently installed a new hydraulic filter, replaced all the o rings under the lift cover and replaced the o ring and leather seal on the piston under the lift cover. This only helped pick my lift up about one third of the way and was needing help as to what to do next. Need help please! :(

More info please. Is it slow, unresponsive, jerky, weak, won't go all the way up? Did you buy it this way, was it working fine before?

Did you bleed the pump? Allen head plug at top back of the pump on left front of tractor.

It worked fine for years and has gotten worst with age. That's why I rebuilt everything the lift cover. The pump was rebuilt about three years ago so I don't think that is the problem. I did not bleed the pump after rebuild! Also it goes completely up and down without any attachments but under a load is when I have problems.

Is it in draft control mode or position control mode? Did you follow the procedures for adjusting the control linkages when you had the lift cover off to replace the seals?

"Also it goes completely up and down without any attachments but under a load is when I have problems." This comment steers me away from a control/linkage adjustment problem. Lift cylinder was not replaced, so it may be worn in the area of cylinder where piston runs for the upper part of lift range, thus leaking in that range. Higher pressure under load = more leak, thus no lift. Low pressure under no load = less leak and ability to lift remains. You need to observe cylinder for leakage. A leak anywhere in pressure circuit could have similar result, but would more likely result in some loss of lifting force over full range of travel. I wouldn't limit observation to cylinder only. Leaks hurt or kill ability of pump to build pressure. If no leaks at all is verified, then I would gauge the pressure under lifting conditions.

I tend to agree with Jmor.
You may have two different issues going on
there.
One is the linkage. We'll deal with that
later.
Second is there may be a leak somewhere.
First' bleed the pump. Always do that after
opening the hyd ststem anywhere.
Second, open the inspection cover on the
left side. Put an implement on it and try to
lift it. Look inside the inspection cover
with a flashlight for obvious leaks.

"I do not have an inspection panal on my
model."

If you have a 3000 then yes you do.
Left side. Round cover.

I hate to keep on beating a dead horse but you can see there is no inspection plate on this tractor. I understand there were several Ford 3000 models and not all of them have this plate. I wish that did! But I really do appreciate everyone's help!
