Which manual

I have a 1975 4000 SU

I downloaded an operators manual and what I believe to be the correct 900 page service manually kindle. (See below)

However I think I would prefer a paper manual/s. I am guessing the I&T Shop Manual FO-31 will do the trick. What FO-31 manual is missing on the front end and steering of the SU I can pick through with the big service manual? Or should I pick up another shop manual, like one for the 3000 to cover the front end and steering stuff.

This winter I want to put new seals for the brake rod and I know at some point I am going to redo the bushing on the front bulster. I figured I would order a manual or two while I am out on ship floating around.

I figured I would add a couple pics of the tractor...I don't have any real recent ones on my I pad but I guess these will do.

While factory Ford repair manuals leave a little to be desired (at least compared to Deere manuals), it's way better than an IT manual. Food
for thought.

Factory manual will cover 2000-7000 tractors, 1965-1975.

I like a paper manual and have a set for my -000 series tractors, but I bought a CD manual for my truck and print off the pages I need when I have to do repairs.

I only recently got an original big Ford
manual. I haven't used it that much.
Have been using an FO 31 manual for a long
time and never saw a reason to upgrade.
FO 31 will cover your SU. 4000 section for
rear end and hydraulics and 3000 section for
steering.
This will make you jealous:
A buddy of mine found the big manual - good
shape, original Ford 3 ring binder - at a U
of M "yard sale". Thought of me and bought
it. $5. I asked him if he wanted to triple
his money on it.
He said Sold!

I was think that maybe the fo-31 shop manual took out the pages that didn't pertain to the 4000 but that doesn't sound like the case.

I guess I will just stick with what I got and do like destroked does and print pages as I need them. It will be good to have it on the laptop too instead of just the iPad. I know I am just a young pup compared to many here but the bigger the scream the better for me.

The FO-31 covers the 2000, 3000 & 4000 series. For the front axle and steering on your 4000SU just follow the sections for the 2000/3000, and follow the sections for the 4000 for everything else.
