Zenith carb

I have never found the aftermarket carb to be worth my time or $$ to use them. I just rebuild the old carb and be done with it

I would do that but someone swiped it. Its amazing how just a little change here or there on a gas model will make a big difference. Air draft and fuel mix need to be pretty close. Even small air leaks around the carb change it.

You probably know that I rebuild the Marvel Schebler carbs for close
to 100 folks a year, but if not, I'll put it out their for transparency.

No, I have not used the "new" Zenith carbs on a 600 or 800.
I like the "old" Zenith carbs and I don't doubt the new ones work well.

What I have found in rebuilding them is that the Zenith's are hard
to find a "complete" rebuild kit for. You can get gaskets, needle
valve/seat and maybe some seals, but that's about it.
Kind of like the M/S kit they sell at O'Reilly's. Doesn't quite cut it.
I've even had to modify M/S jets to fit a Zenith on a Case tractor.
That one turned out well, but seemed ridiculous to have to do.

I don't currently have a rebuilt one for either a 600 or 800.
But if you need one, I can get you an original for less than new.
600 is a 134 engine, 800 is a 172, so it does make a difference.

Wished I had seen this post earlier. I bought a 640 at an auction real cheap. I drove it up on my trailer so I know my price was good. However it had a Zenith that was full of krud and I messed up the needle seat trying to get it out, I found the cost of an aftermarket Marvel was just double what I could find a Zenith partial kit for so I bought the aftermarket Marvel. I have not received it yet but while I used my Zenith, I have never had a smoother idle. It just lost power when it was time to go. Fingers crossed with the new Marvel. Since I'm rattling on I got the 640 for 885.00 and it does run with no smoke and 40 PSI showing on oil gauge. Good for me I hope. Probably should have just sent my old carb to Royse.
