My SIL, who is a car motor guy (chev 350's mostly) says that the tractor is running too rich. On these cars/engines you can adjust the high speed and low speed metering on the carbs to dial them in if they are running lean or rich.
The tractor runs just fine, starts good, powers up under load and does the work. Holly carb. Does seem to drink the gas a bit. Looks like there is no way to adjust anything but idle, right?
Is it possible for it to run rich? How can I tell and if so what can I do about it. I have heard that the Zenith carbs are better running but tend to use more gas. Is that correct?
I'd hate to throw $400 at it for an new carb to fix something that is not broken. Need advice.
