Power Steering - model 860

Hello All - This is my first of likely many posts here, although I've been reading bits for weeks. Just picked up my first tractor, an 860, which I think I got a deal on. Needs some attention but over all it seems like it'll be will be a great addition to our nano farm. Anyway, the first issue I am attempting to address is some popping/ticking/stumbling I have coming out of the intake. As I'm inspecting the plugs, I noticed there was a hard line running directly in front of plug #1 that goes from a belt driven unit to the steering assembly. That has to be a power steering unit, yes? I haven't really driven it anywhere due to the popping/stumbling issue but It didn't feel like assisted steering.

More on the ticking tomorrow...

Thanks!

Power steering pump should be on the right hand side of the engine and have a belt to drive it if you have power steering that is. As for the engine not running well I would maybe try new spark plugs. I use NGK3112 plugs in my Fords

have you pulled the plugs to read their color?

Are they looking lean? ( white / ash ).. lean condition will cause popcorn popping sounds.
