Ford 4000 Governor oil line has no oil

OK, I got my new governor shaft installed on my 1970 4400 after the old one got devoured. I think I know why it got chewed up now. Ther is an oil tube that runs fromthe block to the distributor housing that I assume is suppoed to oil the governor shaft and the distributor, but no oil comes through mine. The tube is clear and even if I disconnectt it from the block no oil flows. The attached picture shows the threaded hole the oil tub goes into. Any idea how to fix that?

I would remove the line
and go after the block
side with a stiff wire or
see how far you can hand
twist a drill bit in
there.
Then turn the engine over
and let the oil push out
any crud you left behind.
Likewise, I would go after
the governor housing in
the same fashion. It would
not be difficult to pull
the governor/distributer
housing off and follow how
the oil goes through it.

The governor housing is clear so no problem there. Should that oil passage in the block go straight into the block? I didnt have much time to mess with it but I did push a thin wire in the threaded hole in the block and it only went in about 1/4 inch and stopped. If that passage is staright, then it is definitely clogged.

The fitting goes into a oil galley but you should be able to push a wire into the fitting about 1/2".

Sounds like someone replaced the metal oil line with some plastic tubing.
Let me get the correct line and fitting off the block and I'll send it to you, I would have sent them with the drive had I known yours wasn't correct.

Thanks for the offer but my line is metal tubing. My problem is definitely in the engine block. Now that I know that galley only goes in 1/2 inch or so I will fell better about poking around with a drill bit.
