Tire time in east TN

Hello all,
I am getting ready to start cleaning up some rims - hopefully the photos came through.

These are all 28's off Hundred series tractors and are a mix of 12's and 13's tires. Some were filled and the rims suffered. I drained them before rolling up the ramp seen in the second photo. All but one tire look salvageable so far, but we'll see once these get skinned off the rims. Will probably have to replace some tubes as well.

I will be chaining down the load and headed for one of our local co-ops for help. They have air powered bead breakers and other tools that I don't have. Plus most of them are younger and stronger than me :)

Plans are to grind off the major rust, then use a chemical deruster before washing and painting. Some of the valve stem holes will need a patch welded in.

thanks,
Doug in east TN

I'll be doing the same thing this weekend. I have a flat on my 3000 to fix and I already bought 2 replacement tires at a sell so I'll be breaking them down and changing them out. I still do my own but it sure is a job. I'm outside of Memphis where in east are you? And I love the truck wish I had one like that!
