How to preserve the "patina"?

Seems I recall some time ago someone posted about using a product that would preserve the patina on a tractor. I think it was "(something) fluid" or "Fluid (something)"? I would like to clean up my 960 without disturbing (too much!) the looks of it. Has light surface rust, & I can still read the original decals.
Does anyone remember this? Or am I dreaming again?!!
Thanks!

Fluid Film is it's name, I tried it here in Southern AZ, lasts about a month, the sun/heat burns it off. Mine sit outside, I don't know how it would be if it's covered.

Tell you what else that would work that I have used and lasted over a year or more and that is Butchers liquid floor wax.I put it in a spray gun and sprayed it on a large Cummins generator set that the paint was oxidized badly on and it looked like it was just repainted.I suppose any good quality floor wax should work also.

I have a ex military Humvee that I spray down with WD40 about once a year. Not sure what it would do to the decals but sure makes the Humvee look nice.
