i have a 4000 gas ford with front loader and p/s it steers good to the left but hard to the right change p/s pump filter didnt help

Mine is just the opposite. It could be you need a new cylinder. Someone said to make sure you have good spindle bearings and bushings and equal air in tires. Funny thing is mine steered perfect before I put seals in it. I even pulled it apart to check my work. It also seems to work better when the fluid is cold. I have emptied fluid out of different cylinders and you could tell when one was better- harder to pull apart empty. Im about ready to just buy new cylinders.

There are a few different steering systems among the various 4000s. Do you have a three cylinder or four? Row crop or utility?

When my 3600 did that it was a broken Bellville (wavy) washer at the top of the control. It required removing the steering wheel, the dash sheet metal, and the steering tube to get at it. When the new one is installed there is a particular amount of tightening the nut which is then staked to keep it from turning.

My steering wheel was impossible to remove from the shaft with any kind of puller or hammering so I bought a new one and used my angle grinder to cut through the old one in 3 places and it still came off hard.

have a 3cyl gas power steering lines from power steering pump to steering box under dash steering wheel connected to

That narrows it down some.
Does it have one steering arm on the left side of the steering box = standard late model 4000 with integral power steering.
One arm on each side of the steering box = 4000 SU with 3000 style power steering that also has cylinders on both sides.
No steering arms = 4200 row crop with hydrostatic steering.
